1970 Kenya

Still using staff travel. we flew to Nairobi with an interesting stop for breakfast in Entebbe

Once safely in Kenya, we rented a car, and headed out to Tsavo National Park for our few days in Kenya

We were stopped by the police on the main Nairobi to Mombassa road, when travelling between Tsavo East and Tsavo West, and had to wait for several hours in the heat of the sun. President Jomo Kenyatta was apparently travelling from Mombassa to Nairobi, so they closed the whole road until he passed. All we saw was him waving his fly swat out of the car window, and I was not quick enough to get a good shot

We also learnt to be careful of monkeys stealing you lunch if you left you car doors open
