Tues 17 Jun Fly Valencia to Dublin An evening flight from Valencia to Dublin. We arrived at the Gresham Hotel in O'Connell St around 10.pm
  Hotel Dublin Gresham The Gresham is no longer a top rate hotel, and now is mass, middle of the market.
Wed 18 Jun Ship departs Dublin

A wander round Dublin, then an Uber to the Silver Wind moored at North Wall. The usual first day briefings, including an introduction to the expedition leader, Werner from South Africa, and his team of 22 people

We sailed at 18.15

Thurs 19 Jun Mull Duart Castle is the ancestral home of the Clan MacLean. Certainly a Scottish Castle. but not really memorable
Fri 20 Jun St Kilda we had been to St Kilda twice before. Once when it was difficult to land and once when it was easy. This time it was easy, though there was low cloud for much of our stay.
Sat 21 Jun Sea Day At Sea. A quiet day with calm seas en route from St Kilda to Iceland
Sun 22 Jun Djupivogur Djupivogur. A walk round the town in the morning, And "Super Jeep" excursion in the afternoon
Mon 23 Jun Tumavik Tumavik, a remote small settlement where we had an adventurous beach landing in heavy seas
  Raufarhofn Raufarhofn. In the end the landing here was called off because of the seas, but we saw the Arctic Henge from the deck of the ship
Tues 24 Jun Hofsos Hofsos, A walk round the town in the morning
  Dragney This is a small, flat topped island near Hofsos. To reach the flat top involves, a series of vertical iron ladders, and steep, roped paths
Wed 25 Jun Djupavik Djupavik. A "medium" walk, followed by a tour of the abandoned fish factory
  Veidleysufjordur Veidleysufjordur. A Zodiac cruise that delivered vary little wild life
Thurs 26 Jun Husavik Husavik is the "whale watching capital" of Iceland. We did see distant whales, more thanks to our telephoto lens than in real life
Fri 27 Jun Eskijordur Eskifjordur. An interesting trip to natural hot springs at 40 degrees and a plunge into the icy 10 degree lake.
Sat 28 Jun Seydisfjordur Seydisfjordur. We were here because bad weather forced a change of plans. We walked round the town and up to the waterfall
Sun 29 Jun Sea Day At Sea. The crossing to Scotland was rough, but not as bad as it might have been. 4 meter swell
Mon 30 Jun Iona Iona. We landed in heavy rain, and went round the Abbey. The off by ourselves for a walk, but abandoned that fairly quickly with the rain
Tues 1 Jul Belfast A coach from Belfast to Giants Causeway and Dunluce Castle. By now we had sunshine
Wed 2 Jul Dublin

Arrive Dublin 07.00. Hotel Dublin Gresham again. We had a few walks round the centre of Dublin. Saw Riverdance in the evening

Thurs 3 Jul Home More walks round dublin. Then fly Dublin Valencia late and arrived home after midnight
