A pictorial story of our life aboard the Silver Cloud
There is a certain predictabiity in the "set pieces" on Silverseas. The Welcome, the Venetian Society and the Farewell. But post Covid, there are no formal dinners linked to these and hence they have little point. In fact the Captain never bother to come to a number of them - clearly disillusioned too. Ironic thing is that we ended up Head Boy and Head Girl, as we were the most travelled Silversea passengers on the ship

Certainly we dined with more people than usual. There was a surprisingly good Lunch in the Dame for transit passengers at the Azores. Lyn had (another birthday party on board - she had one in the Explorer a few years ago. And we had dinner with some of the Expedition staff, as restrictions were starting to be relaxed - though they had to get speial permission from the Hotel Director to dine with passengers.

Zodiac operations were comparatively smooth, and there was only one day where we got really wet.

One day, far out at sea we passed a large whale pod. They were interesting , but did not do the dramatic tail up dive that I have yet to see

The (Italian) chef was all show and no substance. I have no idea what he did before woking on the ships, but his restaurant food was plain "bad". However he knew how to put on a show - there were 2 "spreads" every wek on the top deck, which were eyecatching and dramatic, but the food itself, as with his other offerings was undistinguished

Crossing the Equator is a party loved by the crew. The lucky "pollywogs" who have not crossed the equator by sea before are invited/encouraged to jpoin in to get hit over the head by a large fresh fish, covered in chocolate gunge and consume a glass of something green and really revolting
