I chose this hotel as it looked nice, and was only a few kms off the main east west motorway. In spite of a little hiccup with the GPS trying to send us elsewhere, we found the hotel quite miraculously, using Chris' phone . It is funded by wine money, and the owner has built an eclectic mix of small animal farm (rearing pigs, goats, hens ducks, and even a llama to keep guests entertained). There was a massive "formal" vegetable garden , an equally massive rose garden, their own bakery, a winery
The hotel reception is in their wine boutique (sells their wine, their goats cheese and vegetable pates), one then is sent off with a map to find your room, which can be in one of a number of converted buildings around the site. Our room was large, and looked out over the vineyards
We enjoyed the dinner on both nights of our stay. Depends on how many courses you want, but 3 courses were 35 euros, with a reaonable choice on each course. You can wash it down with a bottle of their own wine. The dining room at night was cosy and warm with a log fire. Breakfast however was in a more open building that was impossible to heat as one complete wall was clear plastic - an arrangement that might have been fine in summer, but too chilly in November
All in all it was a very pleasant overnight stop, and I would have liked to have had more nights to enjoy the hotel and its attraction, plus explore the surrounding area
