After a good breakfast at Griffin Lake Lodge, we had a stop at the Giant cedars nature trail, and another at the top of the pass, where these little fellows were enjoying playing in the sunshine.
These Prairie Dogs live in underground burrows, and seem quite impervious to humans
There was an National Park Centre at the top of Rogers Pass with exhibits and films about the area.
Dropping down to Golden, we made our way to the infamous Vagabond Inn at Kicking Horse Ski Resort. We stayed at this place. The write up quoted is the biggest load of old baloney that I have ever read. The guests get in the way of the owners day off here. We dd see a bear wandering round the village at dusk - that's him in the distance above.

The Kicking Horse Resort area was closed, no shops, no restaurants, no cable cars, not even any people. The Vagabond owner had omitted to tell us that, and the only option was either to salvage what food we had in the car, or face a 30 km round trip to Golden. We settled for the former and snacked in our room.
