This really was a very, very nice hotel. It was even frequented by the Malaysian PM Dr Mahathir when we were staying there
In all honesty one does not go to Langkawi for the scenery nor for any particular attractions. The local waterfall is a fair way off the beaten track, and when you get there not really worth the journey. The main town of Kuah has nothing to offer the tourist. It sits on reclaimed land and the waterfront sadly looks like a mucky and murky strip. It is the ferry port and little else
But away from Kuah the beaches are fantastic, and our hotel, Casa del Mar was a wonderful boutique hotel, offering great service, and on a white sand beach. Just the place we wanted to relax and unwind
